But the unique quality of this art collection are the masterpieces of Caspar David Friedrich, the paintings of the azure skies of Italy as well as the new discovered Nordic landscape. You can find seven paintings by Caspar David Friedrich, who was born in Greifswald, in our collection. One of them is the famous painting “Monastery of Eldena in the Riesengebirge (Giant Mountains)”.
