On the evening of March 7, 2024, a new light sculpture shone in front of the Pomeranian State Museum. Artist Götz Lemberg and donors Dr. Julius & Günter Budde attended the ceremony. Together with museum director Dr. Ruth Slenczka and the vice president of the Greifswald citizenry Dr. Mignon Schwenke, they invited the assembled audience to be inspired by Friedrich's work. Those present accepted the new eye-catcher in Greifswald with great curiosity. The colorful drawing lines of the sculpture each form a motive from the work of Caspar David Friedrich from four different perspectives. Götz Lemberg's "cdf light" is a shining harbinger for the three special exhibitions of the Pomeranian State Museum in the Caspar David Friedrich anniversary year and should also remain a shining attraction for city residents and guests.

Viewed from different angles, the individual lines of light come together to form drawings: back views of people, the Greifswald city skyline, the ruins of Eldena Abbey and an old oak tree. The sweet spots are located at the museum entrance, behind the water basin, on the north-west corner of the forecourt (next to the "Lifelines" poster stele) and on the corner of Domstraße.
